It has been two years since Sagara Kosuke came to Dogami General Hospital from Tokyo Medical University Hospital and steadily made progress in creating the ideal hospital he envisioned. He is not only skilled in surgery but also when to be lenient and tough, and to inspire people. As a result, the hospital is hardly recognisable from what it used to be. Its patients are full of smiles and its staff brimming with energy. But one day, the hospital director Dogami Tamaki seeks a 200 million yen loan from a bank. Once they arrive at an agreement, she will retire and her position will go to her nephew Moriyama Suguru. Hearing of her decision, Minagawa Kazue and the nurses, who do not trust Moriyama’s character, cannot hide their shock. Moreover, the daughter of a patient whom Moriyama is in charge of feels alarmed by her poor progress after surgery and requests to change the attending physician to Sagara. However, Moriyama is naturally angered and rejects the request. Meanwhile, Sagara hears from SI Pharmaceutical’s medical rep Shibuya Shoko that a loan officer from the bank is carrying out a assessment on the hospital by masquerading as a visitor. Sagara tries to execute some plan and the other doctors and nurses get entangled in it … … Before long, there start to be glimpses of Sagara’s true purpose for coming to Dogami General Hospital.

Sawamura Ikki as Sagara Kosuke
A talented surgeon who took on a position at Dogami General Hospital after taking a year off following his departure from Tokyo Medical University Hospital. However, he sees the staff’s low professionalism and sets about changing their way of thinking. He loves sweets and is popular with patients because he is friendly and always has a smile on his face. Because he promised his late wife that he would create the ideal hospital, he knows how to move people’s hearts. It is as if he is the real leader. He is a super doctor who has performed close to 3,000 surgeries.

Takashima Masanobu as Moriyama Suguru
A surgeon at Dogami General Hospital and nephew of the hospital director, Dogami Tamaki. He has a sure hand, but even if he makes a mistake, he will not admit his fault because of his pride and arrogance. He has honed his skills in laparoscopic surgery at a medical university in Texas, and his arrogance appears to have grown more and more. While he acknowledges Sagara Kosuke’s ability as a surgeon, he dislikes his presences and is antagonistic towards him at every turn because their way of doing things are different.

Higa Manami as Miyabe Sachi
A registered nurse at Dogami General Hospital. She was once described by Sagara Kosuke as a nurse who is worst at her job, and has greatly resented him because of that. However, she through her interactions with him, she slowly recalls her original aspirations as a nurse, and comes to understand how patients feel.

Ono Takehiko as Momoi Shoichi
The general manager of Dogami General Hospital. He scouted Sagara Kosuke in order to get the hospital out of deficit. He is often at the mercy of Sagara and Moriyama Suguru.

Ito Ran as Minagawa Kazue
A physician at Dogami General Hospital, and a single mother of a high school kid. She and the hospital director, Dogami Tamaki, are old friends. She is one of the few conscientious doctors among personnel who lack a sense of professionalism. She is in charge of the new general diagnosis and treatment department which was established at Sagara Kosuke’s suggestion, and also understands Sagara well.

Nogiwa Yoko as Dogami Tamaki
The director of Dogami General Hospital. Although she is always agonising about the hospital’s management, she believes it is about time to entrust the hospital to her nephew Moriyama Suguru since its finances have stabilised owing to Sagara Kosuke. She has a tough time with Moriyama’s brash self-confidence.
