Wouldn’t you like to help us at mydramalist.info?

    • jadefrost says:

Thanks for the offer and for dropping a message at the blog, I’m sorry I don’t think I have the time to spare in between subbing and running this blog.

  2. saiyukisama says:

hello, is this fansub group taking on request?

  3. jadefrost says:

We do not do requests. All drama projects that we sub are personal favourites that we enjoy. You can find out about the genres we typically do at our wiki: http://fansub.d-addicts.com/Jade_frost_%26_Kazuya

  4. sowon says:

  5. Shan says:

I had worked in the past with Japanese colleagues in Fujitsu (UK), and I like the culture/stories of japan. Finally, I had 2appreciate the posting of ‘fumo chitai’ synopsis which I’ve been reading since 3rd or 4th episode. Since I dont understand Japanese, the blog posting has been very helpful. The drama series has created inspiration on me that ‘patriotism’ is not just about holding guns and fighting… but it can be also creating prosperity of fellow people via business ventures by maintaining personal integrity & love for country.
I will be thankful if pointers to websites/link for english subbed videos for ‘fumo chitai’ be shared [apart from http://www.dramacrazy.net].
    Cheers!

    Hi Jdrama Weblog,

I was wondering if you knew of any Jdrama (other than Koukou Kyoushi) about a male teacher having a relationship with a younger female student?

    Thanks,

    Ayane.

I wanted to thank for your efforts on both this blog and for fansubbing. I am currently watching (when subtitles become available) –

    1) Shinzanmomno
    2) Sunao Ni Narenakute
    3) Tsuki no Koibito

It is with great reluctance that I have to avoid reading your synopsis of those Episodes I haven’t seen yet. For example, I’ve just watched Episode 5 of Shinzanmono. I have a overview of the series on my own website if any of your viewers are interested:

    http://jmmnewaov2.wordpress.com/2010/06/26/shinzanmono/

I really like Shinznamono. You could say I am hooked.

I started Sunao with great interest having seen both Eita and Juri Ueno in Nodame. I find this drama very frustrating. Not because of any faults in its production, but because the characters are all so indecisive. But then again, that’s what the series is about.

Thanks again Jade Frost and keep up the fine work.

    jmm

  8. Jen says:

Hi Jdrama! Good job on your site, very informative! Just want to ask your help, though. I was in Osaka recently and I got to watch this drama aired in the morning of July 23, around 10 to 11 am. There were no English subtitles but I was following the story through the scenes. The drama cast includes a girl with very short hair who was in high school. She was childhood friends with this guy who was also in high school. Anyway, in that episode, the girl with the short hair sees the guy kiss another girl. After seeing them, she runs away and flashes of their childhood moments were shown.

Hope you could help me identify the title of this drama. Thanks!

  9. knuts says:

@ shan, ayane en Jen, there are specific threads for your kind of questions at d-addicts and jdorama, if you are still looking for an answer

jadefrost, I am glad I found your blog. I was looking for something like dramabeans, but then for jdrama’s.

Can you translate your reviews about the dramas?
    Thank you šŸ™‚

  14. arangsatto says:

    Thanks for this great blog,

however did you give a rating or recommendation for japanese drama?

    Thanks again

    • jadefrost says:

I don’t do that much, but the synopses that I write are of dramas that I enjoy or think I would like for the season. Sometimes, I write about my early opinions of dramas in a review of what I’ve watched in a season.

A good source for reviews is http://hamsapsukebe.blogspot.com.

  15. Didoune says:

    Hello!
Thank you for your blog, it’s very interesting!
What drama is your header from ? Seems interesting.

    Thanks again!

  16. Chen says:

Hey great site. Appreciate the effort. Waiting for new j-dramas to come out

  17. Don Sawa says:

Hello, I’ve been checking out your blog for J drama updates for awhile. I think you are doing a great job! I have a blog of my own about J dramas at http://dramakingking.blogspot.com/. Would you mind taking a look and if possible subscribing if you you like it? I never promoted my blog so I don’t mean to be rude. If not, thank you anyway!

    – Don

  18. tchoden says:

Appreciate the efforts you are putting in in this blog… i always check your blogs for new updates on jdrama news šŸ™‚

  19. keiko1981 says:

I do appreciate your work with info about dramas. I do however wish you could shorten/less detailed the summaries a little bit.

  20. oasis789 says:

Any chance you could tag or categorize your commentary posts like drama digest? Otherwise it’s really hard to find them within all the drama summaries and CMs.

  21. anzu says:

I have been visiting – and taking this as my go-to not only for ongoing but also older dramas – for a couple of years now (and am indebted to you for some major discoveries).
Just wanted to say: huge thanks.
I love your blog. Among other things very much the detailed information – thanks a lot for sharing with us.

  22. shiro says:

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for the jdrama information. Appreciate your hard work! I enjoy reading about the dramas to decide which ones to watch (:

  23. dorama-of-life says:

I often get a “this video is private” on your linked youtube videos. Do you upload them as private videos?

    • jadefrost says:

If you see this message, it probably means that the uploader has stopped sharing it. This typically happens for NHK and TV Asahi dramas once the shows start airing or if the videos are for dramas that date back some time.

  24. bz1993 says:

can I bring your translation info out and post on my website? (I will give you credit)
do you have e-mail contact? it might be better to talk more detail.

  25. ET says:

I appreciate your backstories on the characters in Aibou. I watch by satellite in the USA, cannot undestand Japanese (but my son and wife can), but Aibou is one of those shows which I enjoy mainly because of the way it produced and directed. Until I happened on this website, I could find nothing to explain the rather odd relationships the main characters had with one another. Your work helps a lot.

  26. zeneith says:

Hey, may I know where do you watch all your Jdramas?

  27. ReiKabLeu says:

Wow! I’m nowhere near the list of JDramas you have listed here. I only have about 30 (https://elijahmaliksmom.wordpress.com/japanese-movies-tv-series-tv-specials/) I’m quite new to watching JDramas, any suggestions of what other shows I should watch? You have A LOT listed here, I do not know where to begin. Thanks!

  28. AmandaMarta says:

Hi! I’m AmandaMarta from MyDramaList.com. I would like to see if you would be interested in a writing collaboration for our website. Please let me know. We would love you to be part of our writers. Regards, A

  29. Nik says:

    Hi jadefrost.

Question: Do you know if Heiwa fansubs disbanded or just taking a break? Miss their quick and excellent subs. Thanks.

    • dhisashi says:

Nik: I do not have an answer but I was just wondering the same thing. This is 11 months after you posted.
Does anybody else know anything about Heiwa?

  30. IC says:

Hi jadefrost! I’m from Viki and would like to know if you would like to participate in a new program we are setting up.

  31. Max says:

Hi jadefrost, just wanted to echo Nik’s April post and ask if the wonderful Heiwa fansubs is on hiatus or has disbanded. Thank you so much for all you do for the community, between this incredibly useful website which I visit daily and the amazing fansubs you and Heiwa have provided, especially the JIN and Hiyokko series. I appreciate your work a ton.

  32. Naddo says:

Just want to drop my endless thank you for your effort in running this blog and flooding it with the updated news of Jdrama! My four thumbs up to this blog! Gokurousamadesuuuuuuu! šŸ™‚

  33. keiko1981 says:

In fall of 2018 BS Japan changed name to BS TV Tokyo. The first drama to air at that network was Silent Voice.

  34. Aakash says:

I have been following your blog for a while now and just wanted to say thank you for your work, it really helps me stay up to date.

Just had a question in which I thought you might know best: is there a place or list to check that shows historically the best dramas based on tv ratings? I always wanted to check out dramas that have aired before I started getting in to them (before 2010 ish) but don’t know what is good or how to tell if something is good or not.

  35. dhisashi says:

Thanks for keeping this blog going Jadefrost. It keeps me checking out and looking to see if the ones that look interesting to me are being (or plan on being) subbed.

  36. Jean says:

A belated Happy New Year to you, may 2020 be good to you. šŸ™‚

  37. Jean says:

Could you update the images (change host) on your older posts so they don’t have watermarks on them? Thank you.

  38. Jean says:

Stopping by to wish you a very Happy New Year! May 2021 become better for you in all ways! šŸ™‚

  39. Jean says:

Hello Jade Forst! I have a couple of questions I’d like to ask you. Could you please contact me me? Thank you in advance.

  40. Jean says:

Hello Jade! A while back I asked if you could contact me but I haven’t heard from you. I’m going to give you a bit of a warning regarding using images on your website.

    https://wiki.d-addicts.com/User_talk:Ruroshin#Images_DMCA_Notices

I’ve had it happen to me and ended up having to nuke half my website. I called my webhost to hear what they thought of it, like me they thought that it should be free promotion for dramas.

And yes, as stated on the page above, there are dozen of websites out there using official poster images for dramas. I just thought I’d give you a heads up.
