Story
Kurotani Nanami grew up in a poor farmer’s household that suffered from inadequate state support to the earthquake victims. She works at a club as she attends university and constantly sends her family money. One day, Shioda Yusuke, the young company president of Naguri Construction, and his subordinate Miyazato Kazuki turn up at the place where Nanami works. Learning that the two influential men are engaged in work related to ODA (official development assistance) and interested in the illicit money which flows from it, Nanami is fascinated by the flow of money on the other side of the world of international aid. She gets close to Miyazato who has many friends among the heavyweight politicians and government, and is virtually leading his company. In exchange for sleeping with him, she wants a job at a company associated with ODA. Although Nanami knows that it is a dirty world, she unhesitatingly seeks to throw herself into it and escape from poverty. Taking an interest in Nanami, Miyazato guides her to Gohongi Consultants which has close ties to his company. This is the entrance to the world of international aid where kickbacks, bribes, concessions and political manuevering are rampant.
Characters
Mizuno Miki as Kurotani Nanami
An employee of Gohongi Consultants. She has been sending money to her debt-ridden family since university. She has an interest in the underside of the ODA world.
Ihara Tsuyoshi as Miyazato Kazuki
An employee of Naguri Construction. He guides Kurotani Nanami into the darkness of international aid. He is well-connected with politicians and a shrewd person who is in effect running Naguri Construction.
Horibe Keisuke as Iwashita Hisashi
A prosecutor with the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office’s Special Investigation Department. He is probing Kurotani Nanami’s illegal activities.
Sano Shiro as Domeki Soji
An influential political with close ties to the construction industry. He seeks kickbacks from Shioda and others for the elections.
Takeda Shinji as Koide Kenji
A journalist. He used to be Kurotani Nanami’s colleague, but switched careers because he felt disgusted by the real nature of ODA projects.
Takahashi Kazuya as Shioda Yusuke
The second generation company president of Naguri Construction. He feels inferior to the capable Miyazato Kazuki. A womaniser.
Toda Naho as Miyazato Fuyumi
Miyazato Kazuki’s wife. A childhood friend of Shioda Yusuke. She met her husband through Shioda. A virtuous, homely housewife.
