Story
36-year-old Haga Ineko (nickname: Hagane) successfully passed the teachers’ exam with the support of the children of Class 4/3. She would like to say that she is still single, but Shioda Wataru, her boyfriend and former assistant form teacher of Class 4/3, proposed marriage to her. Looking at the engagement ring she received from him gives her happiness … … However, one day, Tao, a girl whose parents were deported out of the country for illegal entry into Japan, transfers to Aikawa Elementary School and to Hagane’s class. Even though she is of a different nationality, she is certainly a beloved student of Hagane’s. Hagane accepts Tao with that sentiment, but Tao, who has bitter animosity for Japanese, quickly gets into conflicts with her classmates. Hiroshi and Airi try to understand Tao, but she has firmly shut her heart off and steadily gets isolated. The final blow is a rumour that Tao had shoplifted. This spreads around the school and the bullying escalates. Is she really the culprit? Hagane, who wishes to melt the ice in Tao’s heart, heads to the elementary school that Tao had attended before her transfer and speaks to her former classmates but … …

Characters
Kichise Michiko as Haga Ineko
The form teacher of Aikawa Elementary School’s Class 4/4, whose nickname is “Hagane”. Her motto is “I wouldn’t let down the students I’ve encountered” and she is a zealous person who would even toss aside her personal life and run about for the sake of the children. She overreacts and frequently has misunderstandings, but she good-naturedly admits her mistakes and possesses the flexibility to bow to her students. She has had a painful experience in the past in which her marriage was cancelled at the last minute.

Kaname Jun as Shioda Wataru
A teacher at an independent high school. The former assistant form teacher of Class 4/3. He is the son of a distinguished family that owns a famous chain of cafe restaurants, but he fell in love with the frank and devoted Hagane and soon proposes to her. He dreams of setting up a private elementary school in which he can make his education ideals a reality.

Saito Takumi as Mizushima Kyohei
The new assistant form teacher of Aikawa Elementary School’s Class 4/4. Maybe it is because he became a teacher at his parents’ advice that he has no enthusiasm and little ambition like the younger generation of today. He does not have the sense of someone who has chosen his own life. He always has a cynical attitude and makes sarcastic quips. He dislikes being entrusted with troublesome things by other people.

Shitara Osamu as Senzaki Toru
The form teacher of Aikawa Elementary School’s Class 4/1 and the head teacher in charge of year four classes. He and Hagane were friends back in university, and he was the person responsible for inviting her to Aikawa Elementary School. As a friend, he at times behaves like an older brother, and puts the brakes on Hagane who unintentionally runs reckless.

Matsumoto Toshio as Asano Tatsuya
The boyfriend of Nishibori Mana who is a former student of Hagane. He is divorced and lives with his daughter, Natsuki. He became acquainted with Mana through his work at the market and gets up the courage to propose to her, but a big wall stands in his way.

Arimura Kasumi as Nishibori Mana
Hagane’s former student. Although an excellent pupil, gave up going on to college due to her family situation. She now aims to be an Italian chef and is training at a restaurant. She is dating Asano Tatsuya who is divorced and has a daughter, but … …
