Synopsis: A well-known neurosurgeon Imahira Taku (Hasegawa Hatsunori) is found shot to death in his home in Kyoto City. Detectives Itomura Satoshi (Kamikawa Takaya), Kanzaki Rio (Kuriyama Chiaki) and the other members (Nagai Masaru, Kajihara Zen) of the Kyoto Prefectural Police’s Special Investigation Office arrive at the scene. According to the hospital director Sonezaki Mitsunari (Harumi Shiho) who hired Imahira away from a large Tokyo hospital, Imahira’s daughter Shimako (Matsunaga Nagisa), who is a medical journalist, suddenly came from Kyoto the day before the incident and asked her father to let her stay for a while. However, they did not see Shimako at the house and she is uncontactable too. Itomura is curious about an antique-style wooden box on the bookshelf in the living room. When he opens it to take a look, he finds white hair tied together inside the box. He asks Muraki Shigeru (Komoto Masahiro) from the crime lab for his expert opinion and it turns out to be hair from the Ashige horse. But Itomura questions why Imahira would cherish the horse hair. He learns of Imahira’s unexpected interest in making confectionary and heads to the sweet class which uses Kyoto vegetables, that Imahira had attended while he was alive. The instructor Kido Nagiko (Kawai Aoba) says there is a teahouse that Imahira frequented in Kamihiraken’s entertainment district. Itomura immediately visits the place and a geisha called Nozomi (Takeda Rina) approaches him for some reason. She reveals that she witness an argument between Sonezaki and Imahira. Then another case happens. Will Itomura be able to connect the dots between these seemingly separate circumstances and uncover the hidden truth?
