Synopsis: Stage director Kawamura Masaharu (Ichihara Hayato) takes a fancy to ‘Futabasou’, a terrace house on an elevation that commands a view of the streets of Yokohama in Kanagawa Prefecture. In March 2000, he and his wife Mie (Usuda Asami), a magazine editor who works for a publisher, move into the house. Although Masaharu and Mie are bothered by the haughty attitudes of the landlord of this house Terada Kokichi (Nakahara Takeo) and his wife Naoko (Yoshiyuki Kazuko), they get along with housewife Yatsui Saki (Hizuki Hana) who lives next door and grow accustomed to their new life. Meanwhile, Masaharu who has been searching for a job he really wants, resigns from stage directing and starts a writing business at home thanks to his wife. One morning, after Masaharu has sent Mie off to work, he feels an unsettling presence in the house. There is the shadow of a person in the house when no one else should be around. This is the “illusion” of the artist Kurata Seiji (Nakamura Tomoya) who lived in the same house 26 years ago. Kurata responds to a shocked Masaharu. The two of them who share similar circumstances, gradually form a friendship, but one day, Masaharu happens to see an incredible scene in the illusion. Is it an illusion or something that truly happened in the past? A startling truth is revealed.
