Hello Jade! Hope all is well with you. 🙂 Could you please help me with the following tittle that will air on ABC / TV Asahi this fall.
Kabe Sir Doujin Sakka no Nekoyashiki-kun wa Shouninyokkyuu wo Kojirasete Iru
Kabe Sir Doujin Sakka no Nekoyashiki-kun wa Shounin Yokkyuu wo Kojirasete Iru
“Sir” or “Saa” (come come now…). “Shouninyokkyuu” or “Shounin Yokkyuu” Or any other version of the title. Your help would be much appreciated.
And thank you for pointing out the title of “Mai Agare!” I’ve seen “Maiagare” being used at several places, including by myself.
Hi Jean, How are you? I haven’t been watching many dramas for the last two or three seasons and trying to catch up on those that seem interesting. Do you have any recommendations? For the title that you’re referring to, my guess is that it may not be either of the two. I took a quick look at the drama webpage and the term seems to be a contraction of 壁際 and サークル that would most likely make it Kabesa? I’d split the words up Shounin Yokkyuu as you have done in the second version.
Sometimes it depends on context to figure out how the words should appear. I’m still learning and I guess some Japanese knowledge helps when reading the synopsis. In the case of Mai Agare, it should be read this way as we know the main character’s name is Mai and Agare would most likely mean “rise up”.
Hello jadeforst! I’m doing fine. For the time being I’ll use “Kabesa Doujin Sakka no Nekoyashiki-kun wa Shounin Yokkyuu wo Kojirasete Iru” I haven’t watched that many dramas lately myself either, I’ve kept myself busy with other things. Thank you for everything you’ve done, and are doing when it comes to subbing and providing great information about dramas. 🙂
