Synopsis: Kayama Ryosuke (Koizumi Kotaro) and Masuoka Misa (Takimoto Miori) from Funabashi Kita Police Precinct apprehend Kurata Tadahiko (Ichihara Hayato), the chef at a the ryokan Yunagikan, as a suspect in murder case that took place in the city. However, Kurata remains completely silent which hampers the interrogation. Kayama feels an indescribable sense of discomfort with Kurata’s silence. Two weeks before the case, a university student Nishioka Takuya (Asami Kazuya) was found beaten to death near a busy shopping district. The murder weapon, a wine bottle with bloody fingerprint(s), was left beside the dead body. At a meeting to discuss the investigation which is also attended by Assistant Inspector Sagara Hideo (Takuma Shin) from the prefectural police headquarters, it is revealed that Nishioka had been drinking with university schoolmates including Shimizu Michio (Okura Takato) before he was killed. The fingerprint(s) on the wine bottle match the fingerprints of Kurata who has a criminal record. There was also an eyewitness statement that led to his arrest. But Kurata maintains complete silence. At this moment, a strange connection between the university student’s death and another case emerges. With 48 hours to go before Kurata is sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Kayama closes in on the hidden truth as he goes against all sorts of pressure.
