Synopsis: The Violent Crimes Investigation Unit at the Yamanashi Prefectural Police headquarters has three teams. Team 1 is led by Kuchiki Yasumasa (Nakamura Toru), a man who has not smiled since a case 15 years ago. His team boasts a 100% arrest rate among the three which is said to be the best in the history of the prefectural police. Kuchiki and his men have been pursuing criminals responsible for attacking a pachinko shop’s armoured vehicle that transports cash in a robbery and murder case that occurred several months ago. Although the main culprit remains on the run, they know the whereabouts of his accomplice Yumoto Naoya (Oshinari Shugo). While they lack material evidence, the interrogator Shimazu Masato (Otoo Takuma) succeeds in obtaining a confession from Yumoto. The day of Yumoto’s first public trial arrives. Kuchiki watches the trial from the gallery seats. It is thought that new information on the main culprit would come out. However, Yumoto shouts for help and claims he was threatened into making a confession. He asserts that he has an alibi which he had not talked about during the interrogation. Kuchiki is convinced that Yumoto is guilty while Yumoto reverses his confession. A trap was cleverly laid. What is the truth of this case?
