Hokusai to Meshi Sae Areba

Official Website

From 1.28 a.m., Wednesdays, 25 January 2017

18-year-old Yamada Fumiko, nicknamed Bun, has come to Tokyo to continue her education in university. She starts living alone in a house in Kita Senju with her talking soft toy Hokusai which looks like a rabbit. Hokusai is the only one that this peculiar girl talks to. A shy person who has the habit of fantasising things, Bun’s greatest passion is for cooking. She will make the effort to prepare food even if she has no money or time and gets a good balance of vegetables, proteins and carbohydrates. But this is basically one dish because it takes little effort and she comes up with creative recipes. She is happy as long as she has Hokusai and delicious meals every day. One day, Bun goes out to the shopping street. After buying up ingredients and kitchen ware, she realises that she has 67 yen left. She wanders through the street with an empty stomach and meets Arikawa Junko, whose nickname is Jun, getting bread crust at the bakery. Jun smiles at Bun who unthinkingly stares at her. But the extremely shy Bun flees from the place.
