Story
In the winter of 1996, 19-year-old Kudo Junichi ended his life in front of his house clutching a letter he had written to his chest. “Dad, I’m free. Farewell.” At that time, the investigation made little headway and it became an unsolved case. Information about this case was stashed in a warehouse of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police as “unsent”. Time passes. In the spring of 2015, detective Ishikawa Yuri of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police’s First Investigative Division is at the site of the murder of a mother and child that occurred in Yokohama City when she is contacted about a guest. The person waiting for her at the Kanagawa Prefectural Police headquarters is a female foreigner. This woman begins by telling her that she saw the murder in January 1996. This is new evidence about the dumping of Kudo’s dead body the case 19 years ago. Deciding that the case should be reinvestigated, Yuri begins to investigate the case and seek new evidence with Tachikawa Daisuke, Kaneko Toru and the newly transferred Takagi Shinjiro under the instructions of deputy division chief Motoki Hidetoshi. The First Investigative Division displays great teamwork to reveal the hidden truth in many unsolved cases.

Yoshida Yo as Ishikawa Yuri
An inspector of Kanagawa Prefectural Police’s First Investigative Division with an instinctive perceptiveness and observant eye. She gets to the truth of the cases through people’s words and actions. She has a strong will to genuinely uphold justice and leads the team with strength and grace. As the investigation continues, her past is revealed.

Nagayama Kento as Takagi Shinjiro
A sergeant of Kanagawa Prefectural Police’s First Investigative Division. An ambitious, cocky 31-year-old. His girlfriend has psychiatric illness. Right after his transfer to Ishikawa Yuri’s team, he reacts negative to involvement in unsolved cases, but starts to change his way of thinking as he comes in contact with the cases together with Yuri.

Takito Kenichi as Tachikawa Daisuke
Ishikawa Yuri’s colleague and an assistant inspector of Kanagawa Prefectural Police’s First Investigative Division He is an upright person, with his own rules regarding things and also a bad-tempered side. He is separated from his wife who has had enough of him and now lives alone.

Mitsuishi Ken as Kaneko Toru
An assistant inspector of Kanagawa Prefectural Police’s First Investigative Division. Because he has many years of experience working in a police box, he is very familiar with the area. He is always calm, reassuring and kind. He analyses cases with his wealth of investigation experience and knowledge, and supports the team. He is affectionately called Neko-san.

Miura Tomokazu as Motoki Hidetoshi
A superintendent of Kanagawa Prefectural Police’s First Investigative Division and the deputy division manager. A dependable boss and the leader who brings Ishikawa Yuri’s team together. Although he is stern, he cares for his subordinates. He loves kebabs.
