Synopsis: One day, Yabushita Yoriko (Anne) is waiting for someone at Yokohama’s Yamashita Park. Then Washio Yutaka (Nakajima Yuto) runs towards her. He asks if she has no regrets, and she replies that she is excited. The two of them get into his car. At the same moment, Taniguchi Takumi (Hasegawa Hiroki) is walking in a hot spring district with Hashimoto Hikono (Ashina Sei), who is beautiful in a Japanese kimono. He watches her profile in fascination as she eats an ice cream. Meeting his gaze, she stares back at him shyly … … One month ago, after Yoriko and Takumi had their 35th date at the site of the Yokohama fireworks display, they worked on a drafting a marriage contract again. At that time, they realised that they forgot to insert a section about infidelity, but concluded it would not be necessary for them. The marriage contract was finally completed. At the Taniguchi’s home on later date, Yoriko and Takumi announced in the presence of Washio, Shimada Sotaro (Matsuo Toru), Yabushita Toshio (Matsushige Yutaka), Taniguchi Rumi (Fubuki Jun) and Taniguchi Tsutomu (Hirata Mitsuru) that they have reached an agreement to marry. Glowing with pleasure, Yoriko raises the thick marriage contract, which she is really proud of, and intends to post this on the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s website as the “ideal model”. Meanwhile, Washio, who has read the contract, presses Yoriko if marriage without a burning passion is what she really wants. Although he is chided by all present, he unhappily storms out of the house. That night, when Yoriko returns home, her late mother, Yabushita Sayoko (Wakui Emi), appears before her. She sets off Yoriko by observing that her daughter actually wants to have a taste of the passion that Washio spoke of. Thinking about Washio’s words and inspired by the stories of fellow female colleagues, Yoriko suggests to Takumi that they set a rehearsal period before marriage. They half cohabit at Yoriko’s government housing. Everything from going to work, coming home to meals and bath time has been precisely arranged by Yoriko, accommodates her schedule and Takumi struggles with housework, which he is not accustomed to. I watched this SP this week. It is as delightful as the series The whole cast returns but one supporting actress, and the story takes up where the series left off. The two-hour special doesn’t feel padded at all. Just a wonderful special.
