Synopsis: A young girl suddenly appears in front of high school student Yadomi Jinta (Murakami Nijiro/Minamide Ryoka) who has become engrossed in video games at home and withdraws socially. He wanted to forget her, but has never once forgotten. His childhood friend Honma Meiko (Hamabe Minami/Tani Kanon) whom he called by a fond nickname, Menma. It cannot be. Because she … Menma should have died that summer day. However, Jinta cannot help recognising her. Menma has appeared before him as a ghost. Slightly grown up and in the same white dress as that summer day. She tells him that she has come back because of regret and an unfinished wish when she was alive. But she does not seem to remember the details of this important wish. A confused Jinta heads out for shopping. Then, he runs into an unexpected person again. Poppo. Hisakawa Tetsudo (Takahata Yuta/Takahashi Santa), who is a childhood friend like Meiko. Scenes of the group of six childhood friends who made up the Super Peace Busters from seven years ago go through Jinta’s mind. The name was his idea so that everything would make peace, and he was the leader. Then, Menma’s death in an accident triggered a rupture of the bonds of the Super Peace Busters and they drifted apart. Poppo whom everyone used to treat as a younger brother, has completely grown up. He has been travelling around the world instead of going to school, and happens to back in Japan. Poppo says he lives in a cottage that was used as the Super Peace Busters’ secret base in the past whenever he returns. Jinta discusses the appearance of Menma as a ghost with him. Contrary to Jinta’s expectation that Poppo would dismiss this as idle gossip, Poppo believes his story and suggests that the Super Peace Busters fulfil Menma’s wish. The surviving childhood friends get together for the first time in a long while because of Poppo’s call. Yukiatsu or Matsuyuki Atsumu (Shison Jun/Sato Ruiki) who has always been the smart, intelligent type now attends the best local preparatory school. He appears to have forgotten about the past, but his feelings for Menma is stronger than everyone else. Jinta’s schoolmate, Anaru or Anjo Naruko (Matsui Airi/Yoshioka Chinami), who had once been introverted, is now into gyaru fashion. The level-headed Tsuruko or Tsurumi Chiriko (Iitoyo Marie/Ichihara Karen), who was everyone’s peacemaker, now attends the same school as Yukiatsu. Her feelings are not easy to read but she is concerned about Yukiatsu’s fragile mind. Poppo, Jintan, and Menma standing beside Jintan with a soft smile. She is delighted by this reunion. In contrast, the mood between Yukiatsu, Anaru and Tsuruko is awkward. Then Jinta realises that he is the only one who can see Menma … …
