Synopsis: Elementary school student, Tsumura Mare (Tsuchiya Tao), has to move to a small fishing village in Noto with her mother, Aiko (Tokiwa Takako), and younger brother, Ittetsu (Hayama Shono), as if skipping town, because her father’s (Oizumi Yo) business in Tokyo is on the verge of bankruptcy. The family of four decide to live here and Mare wishes that they will live in happiness again. Seven years later, Mare is a third-year high school student who dislikes dreams. Her father has not returned after going away to work in Tokyo six years ago while her mother busies herself with the salt fields and the cultivated land. After graduating from high school, Mare chooses the security of a civil service job. She joins Wajima City’s municipal office and gets a job supporting Noto’s immigrants. Mare initially keeps getting pushed around by the self-centred immigrants. But she is inspired by their pursuit of dreams, and gradually realises the importance of having one.

This work is not confined to specialised knowledge-based support, but covers a wide range from being there for scarred victims, assisting in funeral services to dealing with the mass media and arranging for taxis for moves. While unit members may visit a scene with investigators, they have not been empowered with the authority to investigate so far. However, Togakure Tetsuya (Takahashi Katsunori) who was once a detective of the Kyoto Prefectural Police’s First Investigative Division, has the conviction that what victims and their family want to know the most, is the truth. He would embark on his own informal investigations as an extension of the usual assistance, with the backing of Iwase Koichiro (Matsudaira Ken), the head of the Police Affairs Department, and guides cases to swift resolution.

Synopsis: A sake brewery of long standing in Kanazawa is deep in the red. Shuichi is prepared to be “eaten by the ogre”, but he is thrust into a difficult position when he sinks further into debt because of Yusaku’s pursuit of “perfect sake making”. Moreover, the brewers working for Yusaku are strangers to sake making. Synopsis: The father (Hotaru Yukijiro) of Hirakawa Serina (Naka Riisa), an administrative officer at the Public Prosecutor’s Office, was murdered. The person arrested is Kentaro whom her father had questioned on suspicion of car break-ins. Kentaro is convicted. Serina respects the public prosecutor, Tajima Ryoji (Kishitani Goro), who extracted a confession from Kentaro. Now that she has been working with him, she finds it rewarding. But one day, Kentaro asserts his innocence, and commits suicide in prison. Several days later, Tajima meets with Kuromiya (Sato Jiro), the lawyer who defended Kentaro in the case. Kuromiya hints at the presence of the real criminal. Kuromiya’s dead body is discovered not long after that. Surveillance cameras at the scene captured a blood-soaked Tajima. Suspicions about false charges in Serina’s father’s murder case emerges. Furthermore, Tajima whom she had trusted, is suspected to be the murderer. Serina is shocked and does not know what to believe.

Advocating a more open trial, Sakuma suggests that Mizutani make an appeal to the world to assert his innocence through a video site together with Okina (Ichikawa Mikako) and Tabuchi (Hashimoto Satoshi) who are members of Shinbunshi, the masked group which he leads.       Mother Game, She, 64, Kyoto Ninjou Sousa File, and Yami no Bansosha all sound really interesting, and possibly Dr. Rintaro depending on the direction it goes.

    Did you know that Renai Jidai is a remake of 2006 Korean drama titled Yeonae sidae. Also known as: Alone in Love. Korean written title: 연애시대

      I also found out the the 2006 Korean drama titled Yeonae sidae. Also known as: Alone in Love. Korean written title: 연애시대 was based on the novel “Renai Jidai” by Hisashi Nozawa (published 1996 by Gentosha Inc.).

    Mmm, none of the spring dramas look remotely exciting. I guess I’ll probably watch Kokoro ga Pokitto ne for Fujiki Naohito and Yamaguchi Tomoko, and might also take a look at Kimutaku’s drama. Sad that Tamaki Hiroshi isn’t in a drama this season, sigh.
