  1. Jenevip says:

Can’t wait Team Batista 4 Ito Atsushi ^_________^

  2. Anonymous says:

    Finally an Interesting looking season.

  3. Gooseberry says:

Honestly, I think another series of Iryu might not be a good idea, especially with the scriptwriter’s track record……

  4. lontong.stroong says:

I guess there will be Kodoku no Gurume season 4 this winter

  5. punklavender says:

This season will be interesting ^^ I haven’t seen Matsumoto Jun on the camera for a while. And Boku no Ita Jikan, I’ve been hoping for a drama with Miura-kun and ALS. The best of both worlds, I guess.

I agree with Gooseberry too. Another season of Iryu seems a little iffy…

I mean, and can we please talk about the live adaptation of Kuroshitsuji? *squee*

  6. Annabell says:

And another drama on Fuji TV, ‘Lost Days’:
    It´s looking very interesting.

  7. karon says:

Haiist. Looking forward for this season. There are a lot of interesting dramas and most of my favorite actors has a drama too. i have already the list of dramas im going to download and watch. soo excited.

  8. Rootabega says:

Thank you for providing this detailed rundown, jadefrost. I only made it half-way down the list before I had to stop for fear of weeping. It’s amazing how tastes can differ:). With the notable exception of “Impei Sousa”, this coming season appears to demonstrate two of my biggest issues with today’s doramas:
    1. utter creative bankruptcy. how many runs of Iryu do we really need? Or simply ripping a previous concept and rebranding it with a new title, ex. Boss….Kinkyuu. How about ripping off a couple of K-doramas while we’re at it, ex. Flower Boy Band….Shark. Makes me long for the relatively recent days when everything was based on a manga, but apparently such re-adaptation is too much time and trouble these days.
    2. women. Yup, women. Everything about doramas and women. Yes, I can complain all day long that the (mostly) male writers don’t know how to create full-blooded three dimensional female characters to save their lives, but it would be to no avail, because Japanese women, who make up the largest segment of regular dorama viewers, lap up this nonsense, nay, they demand it. The younger women at least as much as the older ones, which means this will continue on into the foreseeable future.
Thank you for letting me on to you blog to blow off a little steam.
And have a Happy New Year, jadefrost!

  9. mardot85 says:

S sounds like Japan’s answer to Flashpoint.

  10. Oreiji says:

Thank you for the list! Not really many interesting dramas this season. I’m looking forward to Ashita, Mama ga inai. And hopefully Shitsuren Chocolatier won’t be too mushy. MatsuJun’s last dramas have been kind of cheesy. I don’t know why they keep casting him in these happy-go-lucky shy-guy roles. He’s much better at the angry-for-no-reason roles like in HanaDan.

  11. JustMeMike says:

I’m eager to see the Chocolatier series – I’ve been a fan of Jun since Kimi Wa Petto, of Satome Ishihara since H2 – the baseball drama, and Mizukawa since Nodame Cantabile. I realize that each of these actors have had some successes and some flops, but I’m that this they succeed.
