Synopsis: One morning, the dead body of a woman is discovered within the jurisdiction of Tsukishima Chuo Police Precinct. Every form of identification has been removed. However, Itomura Satoshi (Kamikawa Takaya) sees the alphabets ‘N. SHIMADA’ engraved on a fountain pen that is among the personal effects of the deceased, and guesses that it might be the victim’s name. In addition, his interest is piqued by the bird brooch in the victim’s bag. He starts to investigate its origins on his own. Meanwhile, it turns out that the fountain pen is stained with antiseptic which is used in hospitals. Itomura promptly heads to Aisei General Hospital, a large hospital under the precinct’s jurisdiction. At the hospital, he ascertains that the nurse Shimada Natsumi (Sato Yasue) is the victim. But right after that, the sound of gunshots echo. A group of four armed men force their way into the hospital and barricade themselves. They take Machimura Takashi (Shimizu Shogo), the president of a bank who is hospitalised here, into custody and demand a 1 billion yen ransom from the bank by using Machimura and the people inside the hospital as human shields. The time limit is a mere 24 hours. Furthermore, it becomes clear from the appeals of Azusa (Yamashita Yorie), the wife of Aisei General Hospital’s director Morikawa Masahiko (Masu Takeshi), that their beloved daughter Rin, who is scheduled for a heart surgery tomorrow, is also in the hospital … … Mizusawa Kyoko (Saito Yuki) and all at the precinct as well as the commissioner of Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigative Division Kaneko Joya (Ogi Shigemitsu) cannot make a careless move. They establish contact with Itomura through mobile phone and try to crack the case. In the midst of this, there is a casualty. In order to keep Rin safe and prevent further casualties, Itomura quickly puts on a doctor’s white coat. Pretending to be a doctor, he starts an undercover investigation but … …
