Synopsis: 22-year-old Odamachi Sakura (Oshima Yuko) has just joined Akita Publishing, which used to publish manga artist Tezuka Osamu’s Black Jack in the Weekly Shonen Champion, and is assigned to the manga editorial department. But she has no interest in mangas. Sakura is one of those present day kids who cannot understand the essence of hard work. However, through an unexpected turn of events, she ends up travelling back in time from 2013 to 1973 where the legendary Kabemura Taizo (Sato Koichi) designates Sakura to be Tezuka’s (Kusanagi Tsuyoshi) editorial assistant and she is faced with the prospect of working close to him. The second chief editor of the Weekly Shonen Champion, Kabemura created its golden age and gained notoriety for being scarier than the devil when it came to deadlines. At that time, Tezuka’s popularity was flagging because of the failure of his anime project, bankruptcy of his company as well as divergence in period and style. But Kabemura, who has a high regard for Tezuka, gives him the chance to make a comeback with the request for a Black Jack series. Although Tezuka is called the god of manga, his real self is actually that of a hardworking person who hates to lose instead of a mere genius.
