Tagawa Shinichi of the Unsolved Cases Unit of Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigative Division has doubts about the unsolved robbery-murder at the pub in front of Nakano Station 5 years ago, and starts reinvestigating the case with his partner Ikemoto Koji. A masked man robbed staff of money and also killed Akama Yuya, a vet, and Nishino Mamoru who has links to an organised crime group. At the time, the criminal profile during the initial investigation was that of random killings by a foreigner after money. The victims were not acquainted. Each was waiting alone for their partners. However, the criminal was not arrested. Repeated low-profile inquiries lead Tagawa to a meat processing company called Meat Box. Furthermore, right after the case, there was an intruder in Akama’s house and it was discovered that two computers were stolen. While investigating, Tagawa comes to believe that the case was a premeditated crime. On the other hand, Tsuruta Masumi, a reporter of a news site, is also pursuing Meat Box which is notorious for its influence behind the scenes, for food product mis-labelling based on a tip-off. While gathering information on the company, Tagawa and Masumi happen to meet each other again. The two of them have a past connection.
