Synopsis: In 1960, a dancer is murdered at the dance hall in Akasaka, Tokyo. Public prosecutor Onoki Takao (Sawamura Ikki) of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office pursues the suspect to Yamanashi. Onoki has had nothing to do with women ever since he was drafted to the war front as a student. However, while in Yamanashi, he encounters a beautiful woman who is like a flower that has bloomed in the shade of dense woodlands. His heart is stolen by her fleeting appearance. Upon his return to Tokyo, Onoki learns that the murder of the dancer has something to do with the corruption scandal surrounding the Ministry of Construction. They have to keep the suspect safe in order to expose those misdeeds, no matter what it takes. But the suspect commits suicide and they lose their only lead. In the midst of this, Onoki is contacted by the beautiful woman he met in Yamanashi. He is excited to meet this woman called Kuroda Yoriko (Hada Michiko) again. During their secret meetings, Onoki learns that Yoriko has a husband (Kaga Takeshi), but he cannot dismiss how madly he is in love with her, and he begins to stray from the right path. An unhappy woman who seems to have a shadow about her. Yoshiko receives genuine love from Onoki, and learns for the first time, the happiness and joys of a woman.
