Synopsis: Police officer Mishima Yuzo (Takahashi Katsunori) is a specialist in hostage negotiations. An ace among the elite in the First Investigative Division’s special unit, Mishima is respected as a well-known negotiator, but because he did not contribute toward raising money for the police organisation’s slush fund, he was placed in the lowly position of a police academy instructor. One day, Mishima is called back to the front line. The daughter of Murai Nobuki (Ozawa Yukiyoshi), the chief of the prefectural police who was personally responsible for Mishima’s relegation to the police academy, has been kidnapped. Mishima promises the hard-nosed Murai who stubbornly tries to resolve the case by putting the organisation first, that he will rescue the girl and capture the criminal at the same time. The kidnapping case is an unprecedented one with ransom sought from the head of the police. Mishima is only given 48 hours to settle the matter. Furthermore, Murai’s order is to prioritise the arrest of the hostage-taker over the rescue of his daughter, even though her life may be lost!
