Filming for Gaiji Keisatsu the movie began last August and will premiere in theatres on 2 June 2012. I can’t wait to see it! The cast members include Watabe Atsuro, Kim Kang Woo, Maki Yoko, Ono Machiko, Tanaka Min, Im Hyeon-jun, Endo Kenichi, Yo Kimiko, Ishibashi Ryo, Kitami Toshiyuki, Takito Kenichi, and Shibukawa Kiyohiko while the production crew is the same team behind Hagetaka the movie.
In the drama Gaiji Keisatsu, the members of the Fourth Foreign Affairs Section led by Watabe Atsuro’s character, Sumimoto Kenji, were pursuing terrorists that had infiltrated Japan before an international conference on counter terrorism. At the end of the last episode, Sumimoto who had ostensibly been dismissed from the Foreign Affairs Section to take responsibility for the incident, was reinstated.
In the present day amidst continued public anxiety caused by the earthquake, data on nuclear power-related components is stolen from a university facility. The Fourth Foreign Affairs Section starts to investigate Okuda Commerce which appears to be suspicious and attempts to turn the company president’s wife, Kaori, into a collaborator. Meanwhile, Sumimoto is stabbed by a South Korean intelligence operative hiding in Japan. That is a “warning” from them … …
