Synopsis: On a return flight to Japan, cabin attendant Isaka Rei (Yonekura Ryoko) arrests a thief at Narita Airport’s International Terminal, and receives a reward of 1 million yen. However, she is half-forced to resign from her job as a cabin attendant because of this roundup. Furthermore, her younger sister, Akane (Yamaguchi Sayaka), has made her a guarantor and disappeared, leaving her 10-year-old daughter, Haru (Kawashima Ririka) behind. Rei starts to live with a reluctant Haru at ‘Akinai’, the small eating house that Akane has been running. There is a firsthand account of Akane meeting a ‘Akinai’ customer on the day she went missing. Rei brings the photograph of the man whom Akane met to Tsukishima Police Precinct, and learns that there is a 1 million yen bounty because he is a wanted criminal. The lack of motivation of the attending detective, Gondo Takeshi (Tanihara Shosuke) of the precinct’s Community Safety Division, spurs her to decide that she has to arrest this criminal who has some sort of connection to her sister. And so, Rei becomes a bounty hunter together with the ladies who gather at ‘Akinai’.

He is joined by three buddies – Kawashima Ryunosuke (Tsukamoto Takashi), a gangster serving a 10-year sentence for a murder; Takimoto Kuya (Ueda Tatsuya), a former host sentenced to 4 years for violation of the stimulant drugs control act and obstructing officers from performing their duty; and Kagami Shun (Suda Masaki), an ex-dispatch rider sentenced to 3 years for violating the stimulant drugs control act too. Sagara who was found on an online registry of doctors, tells the hospital director, Dogami Tamaki (Nogiwa Yoko), that she can give him a raise after observing his performance. Although she remains distrustful, she decides to hire him. Sagara treats patients with smiles and kind words. At the same time, he also has a ruthless side. The death of his beloved wife has spurred him to use any means including threats, deception and pressure for the sake of the medical treatment he believes in. While going around the hospital on an inspection, Sagara comes to the operating theatre. Dogami General Hospital’s ace surgeon Moriyama Suguru (Takashima Masanobu) is operating on a patient with pancreatic cancer. But the patient’s condition suddenly deteriorates during the surgery. Katagiri Karen (Omasa Aya) and Kishihara Taiga (Fukushi Seiji) have each been recruited for the same purpose too, and they plot to get close to the target. Rei, who prefers to play the lone wolf, had accepted the job because Nishizaki had hinted at knowing something about lost memory. Neither Rei, Karen, Taiga nor another thief are aware of each other. And so, this leads to an all out demonstration of their ability to cheat and steal what has been stolen. The tragic history of the ring which had caused its owner to die and a shadowy evil organisation pose challenges to them.

Saka no Ue no Kumo (Part 3)

Synopsis: In 1904, the Russo-Japanese War breaks out. After the Japanese navy had sunk the Lushun fleet that Russia had stationed in the Far East, they devised a strategy to welcome the Baltic fleet with shots, but the combined fleet fails to block Lushun’s port. The battle enters a stalemate. Oyama Iwao (Yonekura Masakane), Commander in Chief of the Manchurian Army, Kodama Gentaro (Takahashi Hideki), the Chief of Staff, and the others go to the battleship ‘Mikasa’, the flagship of Togo Heihachiro’s (Watari Tetsuya) combined fleet. A joint operational meeting by the heads of the army and navy gets underway. Akiyama Saneyuki (Motoki Masahiro) makes the case that they should shell the Russian fleet from the 203 Highlands in Lushun’s northwest. However, the army places great importance on Lushun’s fortification strategy. The Third Army led by Nogi Maresuke (Emoto Akira) begins an all-out attack. Meanwhile, Akiyama Yoshifuru’s (Abe Hiroshi) calvary unit proceeds in the search for the enemy’s position, and reports that Russia is gathering a massive army in Liaoyang. In October, the Baltic fleet finally departs Russia. Nogi, who had twice suffered heroic defeat in his offensives, is finally headed for the top of the 203 Highlands on his third assault but is defeated. Kodama temporarily takes command and at the end of the deadly combat, the 203 Highlands falls. In February 1905, the combined fleet which had returned home to prepare for the decisive battle with the Baltic fleet, leaves Sasebo once again. On that same day, all military commanders are convened at the general headquarters of the Japanese Manchurian Army to prepare for the big climatic battle with a Russian army led by Aleksei Nikolaevich Kuropatkin.

Synopsis: Iue Mumeno (Tokiwa Takako), the second daughter of a prosperous Awaji Island seaman, married Matsushita Konosuke (Tsutsui Michitaka), an Osaka electrician who had no parents, family, wealth or academic education, in 1915. For Mumeno, the marriage was an easy one without a mother-in-law, and she hoped to build their fortune from scratch. Konosuke had resigned from his company early into their marriage and set up his own business but things were not going well. He would not give up until he had succeeded because the secret of success is perseverance. And so, Mumeno helped by frequenting the pawnshop and doing needlework on the side. The couple tasted failure and success and the turmoil of war. Matsushita, who went on to found the Matsushita Group, came to be known as the “god of management” while Mumeno was acknowledged as “another founder” for the support she gave to her husband over the course of her life.

Meanwhile, Suzuki Seiji (Eguchi Yosuke), a neuroscientist, returns to Japan fresh from the success of clinical trials in America to prevent suicide. The two men meet again after 20 years, and Yuda is saved by this unauthorised method of treatment. However, Yuda, who no longer has suicidal thoughts, seems to have become a changed person. Synopsis: Yasuda Ippei (Shonozaki Ken) is the son of Yasuda Seijiro (Osugi Ren), the head of Yasuda Group, Japan’s biggest business conglomerate. Although he is the son of a distinguished family, he has absolutely no disagreeable areas and is liked by everyone. His academic achievements are exceptional. He completed his entire high school programme in 2 years and qualified for Tokyo University’s Faculty of Law without studying for the exams. In order to establish his own concept of justice, Yasuda leaves his position as the heir to the Yasuda Group to attend the police academy. He becomes a detective at Kyobashi Police Precinct and bravely faces great evil.
