Synopsis: The Glico Morinaga incident originated with the kidnap of the president of Ezaki Glico and a demand for 1 billion yen in cash in March 1984. After that, the mysterious person went on to threaten other food corporations such as Morinaga and House. Other then the more than 140 threatening letters and challenges were also sent to the mass media, paper bearing the words “Danger, poison inside. You’ll die if you eat it.” were pasted on products placed in store. It was an unprecedented case. In February 1985, the case ended with a declaration from the criminal, “I’ll stop taunting food companies”. The statute of limitation ran out on 12 February 2000 and the incident became an unsolved case. Yomiuri Shimbun journalist Kato Jo (Kamikawa Takaya), who has continued chasing the criminal for 15 years, hangs his head in shame and regretfully writes an article reporting the statue of limitation … …
