Wow, there are several interesting doramas coming up!

I’m not sure how ‘Ikimen desu ne’ and ‘Hana Kimi 2’ will do – how can they live up to the originals? Though Hana Kimi 2 will have a different story line I guess… we’ll see.

I’m looking forward to the new doramas anyway ^_^

  2. junny says:

hi jade! thought i’d reply to your (june 5) reply here, haha. totally agree that esumi makiko’s new drama looks disappointing, it’s another of those procedurals and it seems she’s always stuck with these mommy-with-problems roles these days as well. the cast, i take it, is not impressive? the actors aren’t strong? summer’s offerings don’t seem very exciting, none of them really stand out.

i guess i’ll skip shiawase then, poor fujiki. i love the guy tons, but he does some of the weirdest roles ever. am still in two minds about “Control” but i heard that it’s not too great and fujiki didn’t have lotsa screen time. so i’m going to ‘try and find “shukumei (宿命)” and watch that one instead. as for JIN 2, mmm i’m not really into nakatani miki, but i do like how uchino masaaki has been playing ryoma, he’s a hoot. i suppose jin is still stuck in his existential crisis? it was kinda tiresome even in season 1.

btw, just wanna thank you for setting up this blog! i check it regularly for new dramas and synopses, even though there are so many new and unfamiliar names (mostly cuz i’m still stuck in the 90s – early 2000s mode when the dramas were still awesome, haha). but yes, i think you’re doing a great job!

    • jadefrost says:

My summer fix will be Shitamachi Rocket. I am in love with WOWOW!

The summer lineup has many young actors and actresses who haven’t really convinced me that they can actually act and are not playing variations of the image they’ve been styled to project. Maybe Ikemen Desu ne, the adaptation of the hit Korean drama You’re Beautiful by the Hong Sisters’ will be a hit although I find that the male actors who make up A.N.JELL hardly exude the sort of charisma to whip up the same fervent fandom that the fictitious band did in S. Korea.

Jin Season 2 turned out to be Jin and Ryoma’s story. I never imagined that that’s what it would be about so I feel misled, and they also played up Ryoma’s reliance on Jin excessively, so much so that I started to loathe this story angle by the time it hit Ep6.

Enjoy Shukumei if you get your hands on it. I never got to watch it because my computer crashed. Even if it’s a dud, you would have feasted your eyes on double eye candy! There’s Kashiwabara Takashi too … before he fell out of favour. Pity that.

      • junny says:

i watched “Shukumei”! and quite like it (but i think “g@me” was a bit more thrilling). well, kashiwabara takashi did nothing for me, my whole attention was fixated on fujiki naohito ❤ one of the best things about the drama was the song he sang (it came on at the very end) and i'm now addicted to it, hahaha. you can read chinese, right? i'll message you with a link to the drama.

meh i think i'll skip that "you're beautiful" remake, i didn't get the craze about the korean one and all these teenybopper actors (even though they're not teenagers) don't interest me at all. as for JIN 2, it's disappointing if it's all about jin and ryoma and his over-reliance on jin. i haven't seen much mention of saki (or indeed, her whatever-romance with jin) in recent episodes. sounds like the drama is getting more boring -__-

      • Grifis says:

Jin 2 is a damn shame or should I say a damn sham. I start hating it from ep 5. This is a poor adaptation.

  3. Sandy says:

The rest of the cast of Hana Kimi was announced?

  4. Katherine says:

It seems like ppl don’t get excited towards Conan live-action drama, doesn’t it?

  5. Kotoko says:

Does anyone happen to know what is the name of the song that plays at the end of every Piece Vote (Touhyou no Kakera) episode?
