Synopsis: Kikuchi Yuki (Kurotani Tomoka) tries to obtain approval from her father, Takeaki (Nakamaru Shinsho) to marry her boyfriend, Tsuji Ryoichi (Hasegawa Tomoharu), but is refused without a clear understanding of the reason. However, her father leaves for Aiki village in Nagano prefecture in the company of Ryoichi but does not come back. The next day, Yuki is informed by the Nagano Prefectural Police that her father’s dead body was found at ‘Shinouzuka’ at Aiki village. She calls Ryoichi, who should have been with her father, but it appears that his mobile phone has been switched off. At the request of a travel magazine, Asami Mitsuhiko (Sawamura Ikki) heads to Kikuchi City in Kumamoto prefecture to interview the Kikuchi clan and encounter Yuki at Kusasenri in Aso. He takes interest in her surname, and at the same time, notices someone tailing her. It is Maruyama Hisao (Rokkaku Seiji), a detective with the Nagano Prefectural Police. Asami learns from Maruyama that Yuki’s father had been murdered by someone and her boyfriend had emerged as the suspect. Yuki, on the other hand, is thought to have helped him to escape …

Synopsis: The murdered body of Kawada Yoichi (Yasoda Yuichi), the president of a company which manages a large-scale farm, is discovered. Murakami Tokuro (Yanagiba Toshiro) of the First Investigative Division finds out that Kawada’s wife, Ikumi (Murai Miki), had received a large insurance payout and there had been trouble between Kawada and Kanbara Taeko (Ukaji Takashi) of his parent company, GS. Meanwhile, Amamiya Ruriko (Asano Yuko), a police agent in financial matters who has doubts about the bankruptcy of Kawada’s company and the many puzzles that remain, begins her investigation. When she visits the scene, the farmers nearby complain that the soil has been contaminated by the Kawadas use of pesticides. Then, Murakami, who has been proceeding with his own investigation, comes face to face with Ruriko at the Kawada’s farm and learn that the two cases are connected … At the orders of Todo Fusao (Ibu Masato), the agents eventually conduct a simultaneous raid of GS, and corner Kanbara for police questioning. Suspecting that Kanbara was involved in Kawada’s death, Murakami asks to be present at the questioning but Ruriko rejects him because it is against policy. At that moment, Ikumi is found murdered. Ruriko wonders whether Ikumi’s killing could have been prevented if she had cooperated with Murakami … …

Synopsis: Hashima Ippei (Kato Shigeaki), a damage surveyor at Yotsuba Insurance, is ordered to transfer to the Special Survey Office which concentrates on handling special cases. Since it is a specialised department that investigates difficult cases such as insurance fraud, Hashima is enthusiastic. The members of ‘Marutoku’ are Yomoto Hiroki (Matoba Koji) and Futamura Jun (Kobayashi Chiharu), who are damage surveyors like Hashima; Aki Goro (Netabiko Katsuhiko), a part-time lawyer; and Oga Mineko (Takahata Atsuko), the chief of ‘Marutoku’. Yomoto is disgruntled that Mineko, who is rumoured to have been a part-time investigator, is his boss. Hashima cannot hide his insecurities too. Meanwhile, undertakes an investigation into an accident. A car driven by a salaryman had hit a 72-year-old man called Yazaki Shigeo and caused his death. Even the police are reluctant to classify the case as an accident or suicide. If it was a suicide, Yotsuba Insurance would not have to make a payout to Yazaki who had taken up an accident insurance policy. Was it an accident, or a suicide …? Mineko has questions about Yazaki’s circumstances. Half a year ago, he had moved from the village he was born in to live together with his son’s family. However, Yazaki’s family assert that he had no reason to commit suicide as it was close to his grandchild’s wedding ceremony. However, there is a reason Yazaki had to flee from his birthplace … …
