Synopsis: Tanemoto Chiaki (Itaya Yuka), a career woman who works at an advertising agency, is a single mother with a 6-year-old son, Toru. One day, Toru dies from an asthmatic attack. He had developed a fever at playschool, but Yuka determined that his condition was fine when she brought him home, and had gone to office to attend an important meeting. After the meeting, which ran over time, she went to the house of the man she has been dating instead of returning home immediately. As a consequence, Yuka is charged by prosecutors with neglecting her asthmatic son and letting him die.

Kokoro no Ito

Synopsis: Nagakura Akito (Kamiki Ryunosuke), a third year high school student, lives with his mother, Reiko (Matsuyuki Yasuko), who works for a seafood products manufacturer in Ishikawa Prefecture. Because Reiko was born deaf, Akito has been taking care of his mother since he was young. Reiko thinks her handicap is a weakness and wishes to triumph over her surroundings by making her son a first-rate pianist. However, her expectations are a burden to Akito. Meanwhile, Akito meets Onuki Izumi (Tanimura Mitsuki), who is performing live on the street, happily playing the keyboard. She is also a deaf person. Through his encounter with Izumi, Akito gradually begins to have doubts about his family’s way of life. Reiko firmly stands in Akito’s way, but he eventually learns about his mother’s past which has not been spoken of up to now … …

Synopsis: In 1942, Asahina Taichi (Katsuji Ryo), an animal lover, takes a german shepherd called Aruma under his care because he has fallen in love at first sight with Takahashi Ayako (Naka Riisa), the teacher who leads Kawakami Kenta and Chizu – the children who own Aruma. Impressed with Aruma’s superiority, he raises the dog as a military dog. Then, Aruma is drafted by the army and the children bid him farewell with tears streaming down their faces. Taichi worries and agonises over his decision. After one year at the front, Taichi decides to move to Manchuria, where Aruma is, to be a military dog trainer. What awaits him there is a reality that goes beyond his imagination …
