Story
Yamazaki Tetsuro, an elite who works in trading company Yotsui, is invited by his childhood friend Kumazawa Kenji to their class reunion. However, the hometown that he arrives at for the first time in a long while is hardly recognisable, and has been plunged into a fiscal crisis. Yamazaki is entreated to rebuild the town by Kumazawa and others. Setting his mind on it, he resigns from his company and assumes the position of mayor of Midoriharamachi. Yamazaki’s ex-girlfriend Nakazato Erika is absolutely shocked, while his rival Kojima Yukio of Toko Trading knows this fact and muses over something. Midoriharamachi, which continued to pour money into unprofitable public works projects since the bubble era, has debts of about 15 billion yen. Yamazaki thinks of a plan to build a theme park for the elderly in order to save this town. The town assemblyman Kamada Takezo stands in the way of this unprecedented proposal which also includes reducing the number of town assembly staff and cutting their wages. People who find hope and people who attempt to stop it. Yamazaki plunges on to revive the town amidst the ulterior motives swirling about.

Oizumi Yo as Yamazaki Tetsuro
The mayor of Midoriharamachi. Formerly the head of the grain department of the trading company Yotsui. Asked by his ex-classmate Kumazawa Kenji, he makes up his mind, takes the plunge and takes office as mayor. He struggles to rebuild the town and proposes an innovative plan.
Watabe Atsuro as Kojima Yukio
The head of the operations division at Toko Trading, Yotsui’s rival. He acknowledges Yamazaki Tetsuro’s ability and is interested in him.
Hirayama Koji as Kumazawa Kenji
The head of a unit at Midoriharamachi’s local government office. Depressed about the town’s future, he asks Yamazaki Tetsuro to be a candidate. He and his wife, a nurse, are former classmates of Yamazaki.
Dan Rei as Nakazato Erika
A planner who works at Capital Ad Agency. Yamazaki Tetsuro’s ex-girlfriend. She was attracted to Yamazaki who pursued his dreams, but has now drifted apart … …
Tanimura Mitsuki as Yamada Haruna
An employee of Midoriharamachi’s local government office, she serves as Yamazaki Tetsuro’s secretary. She is unenthusiastic about the town’s future and regards Kamada Takezo, who exercises strong control over the town assembly, with hostility.
Emoto Akira as Kamada Takezo
A member of Midoriharamachi’s town assembly. The longest serving in the town’s 40 year history, he controls the town assembly from behind the scenes. He has various interests in the town.
